I'm working on photographs but in the meantime, here's April's (middle daughter) blog where you can see Julian (born on Mary Ann's birthday) Nov. 9. http://themcgels.blogspot.com/

Midori Sours

I've been working my way through a cocktail recipe book Mika (my oldest daughter) gave me and so here's one of my favorites.

Midori Sour

3 tablespoons Midori (or other melon flavored liqueur)
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon simple syrup

Shake well with ice and strain into glass of your choice.

Simple Syrup I make and keep in the refrig - boil 1 cup water with 3/4 cup sugar until the sugar is dissolved.

Another one I like is
Black Eyed Susan Cocktail

3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup pineapple juice
3 tablespoons vodka
3 tablespoons white rum
2 tablespoons orange liqueur

Stir together then pour over crushed ice in two glasses. Garnish with fresh lime slices and cherries.

Cheers

2010

A rainy day tried to interfere with our 2010 Darlin' Dixie Diva weekend, but we fooled Mother Nature by having a great time anyway. We kept a nice fire going in the fireplace, watched the Saints play some awesome football, ate delicious food, and of course danced and sang the night away!

We bundled up against the cool wind and rain to watch the Saints win!

A special visitor: Mrs. Anna Clayton.

My son Aaron is attending medical school on
the Caribbean island of St. Maarten. Of course,

Darlin' Dixie Divas gather for 2009

Another year older and another year wiser, the Darlin' Dixie Divas gathered once again at the Fudickar's camp Azulikit on beautiful Lake St. John. First on the agenda is to build a fire, an age old ceremony perfect for catching up on each others lives; what has changed, what has stayed the same.

Sadly, we said good-bye to one of our own. Cheri Cordray passed away on August 2, 2008. As a memorial held in her honor, beautiful pink carnations were tossed into the slate-gray, wind-whipped waters of Lake St. John by the Darlin' Dixie Divas.

In memory of Cheri.

On a happier note, Mary Jane and Brenda were surprised with a birthday cake!

For entertainment, Mary Ann brought in a karaoke machine! Did we ever have fun singing along to the oldies and some really cool country music! We acted like a bunch of kids and had the best time ever.
